A skin care routine is very important for any skin type, but especially so when you have acne prone skin. Here are some steps you need to follow to get happy and healthy skin.

Cleanse morning and night

Choose the right cleanser for your skin. Cleanse your face twice a day to get rid of excess oil, dirt, sweat, makeup. People with oily skin do well with a gel based or foam cleanser.

Exfoliation is important

Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and keeps the pores free from excess oil. Exfoliate once or twice a week, don’t over exfoliate. Be gentle on your skin. Too much exfoliation won’t help you instead it will make skin red, sensitive and irritated.

Use a toner

Always use a toner after cleanser to remove left over dirt, oil. Soak a cotton ball in toner and swipe over your face paying extra attention to the areas that have more oil i.e. T-zone. Look for a toner that does not contain alcohol.

Use a Moisturizer daily

Yes girls! Oily skin too needs a moisturizer. An oil-free moisturizer will not trigger breakouts, but will help ease flakiness and dryness.

Wear sunscreen regularly

Wearing sunscreen is ultra important for good skin. Sunscreen not only prevents sunburn, but it reduces the chances of premature ageing, dark spots, and wrinkles. Choose sunscreen which is not greasy and will not clog your pores.
