Jaipur is a remarkable tourist destination in India. If you want to feel how the kings and rulers of India used to live then must visit Jaipur. This city is also known as pink city of India. The best season to visit the pink city is during the winter months (Nov-Feb). In summer, the temperature can reach an unbearable intolerable limit and with the dust and pollution sightseeing almost impossible.
I needed a break from my work and my city! I didn’t plan this vacation at all, I just knew that I was going to visit a new city and that was it!
My day at Jaipur started on a very touristy note. We hired an auto driver who was to take us to the places which are the attractions of the city like Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, City Palace, Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar etc.
First place we visited was City Palace, It is a unique complex of several palaces, pavilions, gardens and temples. Then we visited jantar mantar , located opposite the City Palace. It’s a series of astronomical instruments used by the Mogul’s to predict the future.
Our auto driver took us Amber Fort and then we hired a guide and guide showed us the entire fort with detailed explanation. The Amer fort is the highlight of Jaipur and sufficient time should be provided to explore this wonderful palace. It is a very popular tourist destination located 11 km from Jaipur. It was built by Raja Man Singh. I enjoyed the fort.
Our next stop was Jal Mahal, the water palace. It was built by Maharaja Madho Singh. The palace, built in red sandstone, is a five storied building, of which four floors remain underwater when the lake is full and the top floor is exposed. Chowpatty, street food market is the best part about Jal Mahal. You can enjoy your Aloo Tikki chat while looking at colorful Jal Mahal.By the time we finished the visit to Jal Mahal we were so tired to visit any other museum. Therefore, we checked Hawa Mahal just from outside as it is right on the main road. We went back to the hotel at about 8 pm.
That was it for post. I know I missed some attractions so I want to visit Jaipur again to enjoy the places that I had missed.
